About Benoit

The band members of Benoit are one lead singer (boy), Esteban (from Montpellier), and three singers (girls) Aurélia Bindewald (from Toulon), Najoua Mazouri (from Nancy) and Véronina Raëlisson (from Toulouse).

The Beginning

After a concert, Esteban met two producers (Jean-Michel Bacou & Christophe Casanave) who invited him to join the band they were going to create. He told them about Najoua : she met Véronina on an Internet chat, and Aurélia was the last to come in the band. Their name comes from the character of their first single.

Tourne-Toi

During Spring 2002, a dance/disco song started to be aired on French radios. It received good critics though the lyrics were a bit cocky. Benoît participated to French Hit Machine on April 23, then they sang on stage at the NRJ Music Party (where the chorus was sang by the audience) and NRJ Party Tour. The song is about a boy who thinks he is with a girl, but the girl is, in fact, a transvestite !

Comme Casanova

In November 2002, Benoît released their second single, composed by Christophe Casanave, but this time, Najoua co-wrote the lyrics ! “Comme Casanova” is on the same vein as “Tourne-Toi”, their first single, with an easy chorus, funny lyrics and dance/disco music. Unfortunately, the single was little aired on French radios and it was less successful.

The End…

Early 2003, Benoît’s album was recorded, they were about to release their third single, “L’Esprit De Famille”… But facing French Star Academy & Co., Benoît disbanded. Esteban is still a singer, Véronina works in nightclubs in Toulouse, Aurélia played and created the choregraphy of a musical in Toulon, and Najoua still worked with Christophe Casanave, writing songs : one of them is “Stella” by Steeve Estatof.
